We loved and laughed through days of sunshine
I dried your tears through pouring rain
We shared the love, the hurt and anger
Sometimes I could not take the pain
But I would relive all these emotions
If I could touch your face again
I know I'm always thinking of you
As I gaze across the sea
We sacrificed our love for freedom
Do you ever think of me?
A I lay my head down to sleep now
I see your face amongst the stars tonight
Though the distance is to great to touch you
You'll always be my shining light
There were times I cried in our absence
Freedom soon turned into pain
How can love be so damn hurtful
It feels I'll never be the same
As my tears drip into puddles
I write your name upon my face
I wish we could fly to warmer places
Where our two hearts could embrace
I know I'm always thinking of you
As I gaze across the sea
We sacrificed our love for freedom
Do you ever think of me?
A I lay my head down to sleep now
I see your face amongst the stars tonight
Though the distance is to great to touch you
You'll always be my shining light
