Breaking Through

He's slowly breaking through my cage,
pulling away the chains.
He's holding me up,
He's my earth.

And I'm afraid...
Scared to give in, to feel all that I should,
To get attached, to leave myself open again...
To be used, laughed at and...
Deserted.

I know he's nothing like DeathStalker,
he's not an insensitive, heartless little idiot.
But I still doubt...
I need more time to make sure that
It's true.

I'll give nothing until I know for sure that I can
Feel fo him what he feels for me.
Until then...
He'll just have to wait, or
Find another...
I just hope I'm not throwing away something special.

yes, your doing the right thing... i love how you've thought this through in this poem, sounds like you are taking it slow..a very good idea:) true love will not go away,
