Upon a floor littered with colored paper
Torn from the shafts of crayons
A clouded mind lies wandering and confused
As memories and nightmares continue to flood already crowded corridors
For every second reveals something nearly forgotten
Things that should have remained hidden within the shadows
Yet with the screams that echo through darkened halls
Falling upon ears deafened by silence and whispers that resound within the walls of the mind
Granting serenity amongst the insane
As with a blank stare glassy eyes look out a painted window
At an artificial sunrise that brings comfort for one more hour
Surrounded by padded walls that once were white
Now painted with a schizophrenic’s rainbow
Bringing to a close the 13th hour
The 2nd day.
