Lightning bugs dance,
A sight unseen.
Clowns, Monsters and Masks,
Through the darkness, scream.
What do I see when the sun fails?
Pounding in my Brain,
Floats past as a billion billowing sails;
The dreams of hope.
People, Places, Pictures,
Something.
Nothing.
An illusion.
Scary thoughts,
Take scary shapes,
Within the dark,
Vampires, Ghosts, and Snakes.
Random colours,
Spots of white,
Moving darkness,
Lurks behind the light.
Something, nothing,
I don't know.
The further I look,
The farther I go.
(Staring into the dark,
Absence of light leaves a mark.)

Good descriptive poem really like the first verse esp the line floats past as a billion billowing sails........of hope, carries really nice through with images and questions creating a surreal world, to me I think it ends perfectly with..... The farther I go. |
