MARRIAGE

Like a yacht she goes a-sail
The shore’s gentle breeze caressing her veil
Innocent of the storm that lays a-head
So, gently she moves as the sea spreads
The off-coast breeze is come
Her hope of survival is gloom
The sailor clings to his rusty lucky coin
Reciting and presenting his prayer in point
Hoi-ho fills the air
When at last the storm is clear
And the shore is near
More hands a-deck so we can take her there
There always are more casualties than there are salvages.

Powerful poem. I enjoyed your metaphor here. You compare an upcoming marriage to a storm at sea beautifully. I am sorry you have this dismal views of marriage. Marriage can be beautiful and fulfilling if you find your soul mate. I did love this powerful poem.

Thomas, the good book states that marriage can be troublesome to the flesh, but if you have a powerful love, and great faith, you can weather any kind of storm......no matter how large, or how long!
I wish you and yours many many years of happiness, midst the tears of joy!
Warm love
