Disown
Is a slow disconnect
Followed by a turn and run
Not a glass breaking
In the sink
But lightning striking
A rotten tree,
Mercy
For the falling
An awkward glance
We aren't we now
Division of shampoos
Do you have a figure
To resemble me?
No, no one ever could
Make the same mistakes
Where does all the weight go
When the sacrificial lamb
Runs away?
Who holds the dirty laundry
When your coat rack walks out?
Your welcome mat was inside out
That's my reason
Because I know and I hope
You'll always wonder why
This is the kind of mistake
I'll never regret
But always apologize for,
Because I'm sorry I wasn't so quiet
That you could hear
The walls scream for themselves
Everyone knew
And yet I am the shame
For saying what forbidden thoughts
Wrote when they passed notes
Across our eyelids while we were asleep
The dream of mine come true
Standing on our mountain of skeletons
I dragged out of the closet
To sleep in my bed
So the mattress wouldn't be lonely
Once I left your home for good
No, disown is not a sudden
Liars say it's a run away
It is my vindication,
My stand, my statement;
Home was never here.

An emotional unheaval that we never quite fully
understand, or in some cases, recover from.
This is so painfully poetic. Indifference is such
an anguished emotion. And disown follows the
pain of indifference. This is awash with such pain
and sadness. It's almost too hard to read.
Excellently written. -- Achelois
