Unfading Love

There’s so much to tell you.
So much to say.
So much to do.
No time left to wait.

I’m lying here dying.
And you are my cure.
I’m sick of my lying.
I’m sick to the core.

I’ve loved you forever.
That much is the truth.
If we're not together,
I’d fall to my doom.

I can’t last much longer.
I’m falling real fast.
I’m not getting stronger.
I know I can’t last.

This love will not vanish.
It won’t disappear.
I’ve just barely managed,
To hide all my tears.

I’m lying here waiting.
I’m not giving up.
And though I am fading.
Still strong is my love.

Yes, I completely understand where you're coming from here. I too have experienced the pain of love denied and unreturned. You expressed that lonely helpless feeling well etc. I also liked your optimistic ending. Sometimes all we can do is love while hoping our lasting affection will be enough in the end. In short: good job my fellow poet. Take care.
