Magical powers, spells cast in a ring.
All of this voodoo has not done a thing.
Lately I’ve realized, I’ve come to admit.
Loves not a feeling you force, that’s just it.
Love is a feeling you want to be true.
Spells are a force that will make him love you.
Why would I want that, I now know I don’t.
I won’t make him love me, I can’t, and I won’t.
Maybe he’ll realize, and one day might see,
My heart, it is his. Yeah, my heart’s his to keep.
Never again will I tamper with fate.
He’ll love me for me, not some spell put in place.
Maybe for others, it’s their cup of tea.
Now that I’ve grown though, it’s not good for me.
I once took a hold of a love spell thought strong.
Before I performed it I knew it was wrong.
I threw out the paper with words meant to chant.
Love is a matter I’ll leave up to chance.
There might be a chance that he feels for me to.
There might be a chance that he don’t. and that’s cool.
Sure I’ll feel heartache. And lots of deep pain.
To feel that is better, than love that is fake.
Maybe by chance he just might love me to.
No spells involved. Only love that is true.

Even True Love is often...diverted. You are thoughtful and considerate. You deserve true love but will you find it. How open are you? The older we get the more narrow our choice of true love(r). And when you find the true love you leave yourself open to heart break. Hard for me (who thought he had true love) to put stock in love when heart carnage is all that is reaped. |

The ryhthm of this poem was fast paced. Almost reminded me of an old jazz tune. Also, I enjoyed your poem's message. You're right. Love should never be forced because then it isn't love. Good work here. Keep on writing! ;) |
