She’s only 6 years old.
She doesn’t quite understand the way the world is meant to work.
She doesn’t understand why Daddy hates her.
Why Daddy hurts her.
Doesn’t understand why Mummy hates her.
Why Mummy ignores her.
She screams at Mummy for attention
tries to get Mummy to see the things that Daddy does to her
but Mummy just pushes her away.
She watches as her little sister grows up and suffers in the same way
she knows that she must do what she can to protect her.
She cries herself to sleep at night hoping that things will get better.
She’s 10 years old now.
Old enough to understand the things that Daddy does to her.
She’s found a way to block out the pain.
She hides the blade and the scars so well.
She’s 14 years old now.
She’s really had enough.
She can’t live with the pain any more.
She takes a rope and writes a goodbye note.
