My Love the Universe

Infinite space with a constant background of darkness,
Lit up by stars cradling their planets, their moons.
Comets catch the eye as they flash across the heavens,
Their destination unknown but their journey a visible delight.
Nebulae, gaseous clouds providing a visual splendour,
Such colours, such beauty containing myriads of shapes.
I could stare at the heavens for hours, even days,
But even the beauty of the universe cannot rival you, my love.
