~Gentle Comes The Night~

Contributed by shelby on Tuesday, 4th May 2010 @ 10:37:14 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Gentle comes the night once more
Raindrops softly tumbling down.
Night owns me in her sweet serenade
The tree’s dressed in their lovely gowns.

Gentle comes the night once more
Soft whispering sighs in the dark.
No moon, no stars, just brisk peaceful calm
As the rain drops gently fall round.

I really like the simplicy of this, which in itself has a sadness or gentleness that I can't quite put my finger on. Very good. Thanks for sharing.

i'm with you there in the dark
with the cool mist glazing the trees
the quiet calm soothes the spirit
and the rain renews the earth life

thanks for sharing the great words all
"trees dressed" "soft wispering sighs"
i wonder where all the birds are during that dark evening shower. i've noticed their silence

It's hot and muggy today and I'm too cheap to run the air conditioner.Smile! However, I like to sleep when it peacefully rains at night. Now I'm sleepy, relaxed and comfortable. That's great writing my dear.

So where the hell you been?
Smile!

Oh Celle, that's gentle, and kind with calmness of mind. I really felt comforted by your words this time.
I love the rain at night, it soothes an old soul.
So glad to be reading your loverly words again.
Warm love
consue

This poem puts one in a quiet peaceful sort of limbo, knowing eventually you must leave yet, wanting forever to stay. I guess serenity is a bliss sometimes best enjoyed alone. Thank you for this articulate description of a wonderful place. Beautiful is all I can say my friend. Write on Michelle. Always my best to you ...david
