VASTNESS OF ETERNITY

The stars tell stories of long ago
Spreading light on mysteries to find.
They speak not one little word.
They twinkle every where and shine.
Ahh the vastness of eternity
blows my Earthly brain.
Our vessel only here for a time.
Simple humanness can't obtain.
We'll get a new body each time.
This one will die and fade.
Don't know 'bout your beliefs
But miracles exist in life's parade.
Eternity has no end, see?
Now that's a wonder to obtain,
Each new day our lives brand new.
A beginning our victory still remains.
So I'll shout, there's no end.
Just look at heavens beauty above
He'll give us a brand new body.
Let go of hatred, tune into love.

Thanks for commenting on my poem. I thought I'd check out yours. I like the contrast of the conversational, easy-going tone with the weighty topic. Overall it's pretty awesome :)

Hi Emystar,
Reminds me of when I was a boy and I first tried
to imagine 'Eternity.' In a child's mind everything
has an end - the lollilop you hoped would last for
ever is gone in 30 minutes, the ice-cream that
starts to melt no matter how long you try to make
it last, etc... etc... - so eternity in the hereafter
was just not within the realms of my understanding.
I still struggle but the older I get the more 'Hope'
I store away.
A lovely piece of poetry, and much to ponder.
Tommy

Great style and some interesting thoughts thrown in for good measure too.
Makes you wonder about life in general. We are all just dots in time in the great map of eternity.
