You are like an angel
With a broken wing
When you fell
I knew that it would sting
I know that if I caught you
It wouldn’t hurt so much
But I couldn’t bear to feel the pain
I’d have if we touch
So you fell to ground
As I watched in shock
I can’t love you anymore
Because to your heart, the path is blocked
You’ve hurt me once before
And that’s all the pain I need
Now as you fall
I see I’m in the lead
Now that you’re gone
I see that I’m free
I can be who I want
I’m free to be me
You were always there
With chains around my feet
Now that you’re gone
My life is nice and neat
Later if you come back
On a better day
And want to take me back
You’ll see that you’re too late
