Who I Am

Contributed by Nevilleconnie on Friday, 30th April 2010 @ 05:43:46 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Why are you quiet, and why don’t you speak?
Why don’t you talk, and instead only read?
All of these questions I’ve heard many times.
I never gave answers, but now I’ll confide.
It’s hard to look back, but it is who I am.
A girl who was bullied, without any friends.
I use to be different, a girl full of life.
Never once thought of my spirits demise.
Talkative yes, I once talked a whole lot.
Some said to much, but I never did stop.
All was so well, and my life was so great.
Than just like that, in a day it all changed.
She walked in the class with a smile so fake.
It didn’t take long for my fall to take place.
She started up rumors they knew weren’t true.
My friends stood with her, just because she was cool.
Constantly teased by the ones I called friends.
Nothing was good and I wanted an end.
An end to the sorrow and pain that they caused.
Becoming so weak, when I use to be strong.
They goaded me, saying I’d never have friends.
I’d never be worth it, I’m stupid they said.
They always judged people by what they would wear.
I never had style, they thought that was weird.
Self conscious I am now, but is it their fault?
It’s probably mine too, cause I never once fought.
There winning rite now, case I’m still weak today.
At least I’m alive though, I’m still in the game.
And yeah their still leading. They still have their hold.
And though I am lonely I still have some hope.
I hope that this answers the questions you seek.
It’s why I’m so quiet and never dare speak.
Why make new friends, when they might let me down?
I can’t take it twice, so I won’t make a sound.
I guess I should go now, and read my new book.
There’s no sense in talking, when all’s judged by looks.

I know your pain all to well and it was something that happened to me that never will I tell. Be strong and move one its all we can do, and some day you might find some one that understands you.

Man looks at the outward appearance, but God
sees the true inner beauty of all His children.
So do like the Bible suggests; "Let God be true
and every man a liar!" Your poetry speaks volumes.
Copy it. Leave it lying around for your friends to pick up
and read. You will be showing a side of yourself they
may never have realized existed. Some of them, I am
positive, will ask for your help in writing expressions
of love for their boyfriends and girlfriends that you can
do far better than they ever could themselves. I know
this from my own experiences. Even a blind person could
sense your beauty from your words.
Blessings,
Rob

You seem like a strong person and as far as friends, they will come and go. I forget who said it but, "if at the end of your life you can say I had one true friend, consider yourself lucky"
Now for the poem ...... It had a beginning, content and an end ..... the rhyme was very nicely done ...you didn't take each word and change the consonants of a word and call it a rhyme (IE...hold, fold, cold, bold) and try to make something that didn't make sense but, was put there because it sounded good, as so many here do. I liked your subtle approach .... made for a very good read. Nicely done Write on.....!
