Imperfect eclipse

Contributed by iodinelove on Thursday, 29th April 2010 @ 11:14:47 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

My heart is crying skies riding backwards at the edge of a burgundy stream, broken by silver and skin, the hands of an ancient, towering tree drooping lifelessly—a century of praise for nothing. A century of praise, disregarded.

My hands have beheld the mountains, lilted in their majesty, written great, impossible blush across their peaks and crevices, my hands have strangled stars in the enunciation of love—love! You are the voice of twilight, scattered and twisted among the stars, my eyes fall burdened by your smiles, your imperfect eclipse, your kiss in crosses and thoughts of rain.

My voice has borne the song of autumn and her gardens, her declaration of clemency dwelling in the hollows and valleys of my loneliness.
I wish my heart free of these tormented wails, these ineffectual dreams, these trembling fingers weathered in memory.
