Strange Weather Days

following this line, this narrative
fear of what boils underneath
thin lines crackle between beauty
and horror
everyday actions, I must work
towards everyday life, sinking
and sifting through underlying
hurricanes, smiles, handshakes
I can see it in a picture frame
there is no calm eye and
there is no center
in the next stage there
will be no nothing,
there will exist no muffled
static cellphone questions
I do not believe in this
side of me, I cannot see
any other side, only some
type of vessel, illuminated
by strained sunlight
being alive like holding
together, like juggling, so
many misshaped pieces, all
the while beautiful
everyday routine numbing
strokes, familiar smiles, handshakes
beauty and horror don’t stop
dancing, like ghosts, possessed
waves, we run through town
taverns, in search of a center,
in search of an eye

You have truly captured the complexities of life and
it's many facets in your words. From enjoying the
simplicities to struggling to breathe, this is simply
exquisite. But I really adored these lines..
"thin lines crackle between beauty
and horror"
That just gripped me and held me through the
rest of this so well written piece. Fine writing!
