Running From Exhaustion

I run,
Through a labyrinth of memories,
From something dark and sinister,
But also light and benevolent.
I run,
Turning randomly in my frite,
To find a wall blocking my way.
I almost cry in frustration,
As the dark creature; light creature, comes up behind me,
I turn;
Resolved to face it head-on.
It steps forward and embraces me,
Like an old friend.
I struggle not to succumb,
But in the end give in;
To sleep.

I really enjoyed this poem. Even if its not what you intended, it captures really well that half-conscious state before sleep. |

i enjoyed the concept within this poem the incorporation of light and dark into the same central figure then the disappearing into sleep leaving the question was it a dream? |
