Every morning, when I arise
I take a little walk
I greet the flowers in their beds
Believing they could talk
Little daisies, you look lovely
Dressed in the whitest linen
I know I picked your friends last week
But hope I am forgiven
There stands the tulips in their beds
They gently wave to me
Their coloured skirts are quite divine
And such a sight to see!
Carnations are a favourite
But please don't tell the rest
I love their choice of bunched up lace
That sits upon their chest
The iris with her flair for style
Purple splashed with yellow
And though she stands far at the back
You cannot call her mellow
And last of all but not the least
Directed by my nose
I cross beneath a bushy hedge
To call upon the rose

This definitely has some wonderful imagery!
it made me get even more spring fever than i already have,
which isnt good because where i live we still have a little bit of snow on the ground lol
Very beautiful write though.

This poem made me smile. Such beautiful descriptions. It's like I can almost see the flowers you described. |
