Let the rain roll thin
Off your silly summer skin
Let the youth die hard
Fade into the night
It’s years and years yet
Until we lose our sight
Or did we ever have it
Will we ever do?
Trading words under trees
We mean a thing or two
Or we wish we could,
Maybe he never knew
That the birches swing low
For the downward-looking blue
Why do you think, sir,
It’s always too late for you?
It’s still the summer
If you let it be
Come swing on swings
Enjoy your time with me
There will always be
Time for you to fret
Over these times,
All the people that you’ve met
What sorrows will your eyes
Carry on their backs
If you never know
The summer
Your winter lacks

oh, what a beautiful piece. We are in such a hurry to
grow up, are we not? (What were we thinking?? :P) I
love this. It's filled with beautiful imagery and has a
playful flow to it that parallels youth itself. The last
stanza is just plain brilliant!
Exceptional write! -- Achelois
