For the moment my heart aches,
Becoming taut with pain;
It hammers within my breast,
Ready to burst at the seams.
It is no wonder that it hurts-----
Ignited by passion,
Blisters have formed
Destroying precious tissue;
Deadening my ability to love.

The imagery is blinding, filling the piece with so much torture.

I think you captured that feeling of lost love's hurt very well. I can oh so relate too. I think my blisters have turned to thick calluses.
