There is nothing quite like that
of waking to a full moon
its welcoming light flooding
the sadness of the room
Candle glow and inkwell beckon
like a soft kiss from a lover lips
brushed across the skin like a feather
Words drape the page with affection
wrapping themselves around the air;
they float in ageless, timeless drift
She holds the pen with delicate caress
and paints him into her view
his eyes drink in the all of her
halting words for but a moment
Her heart collides with the rise and fall of his sigh
in a command performance of restless movement
Colour spills on stark white sheets of rain
drenching her room with flooded hue
They dance inside the vibrant puddles
splashing this moment onto the walls
and into their hearts
She clings to the ink stained booklet
that lay on her desk
willing this beauty; this dream;
this magnificent work of art
to stay
But with the breaking of night
and the dawn’s searing light
he steals back into shadow
leaving her with rainbows
and memories of once upon a time

Romance and a big heart drape this entire piece. There is a tranquility that flows through each line bringing delight and warmth that melts the page in harmony. A wonderful write this is and thank you for sharing.
Colour spills on stark white sheets of rain
drenching her room with flooded hue
Stunning lines.

Hi,
Welcome to the site.
The correlation between poetic words and
emotions, and the colours of art, you capture here
quite brilliantly.
A lovely poem.

This is a perfectly titled poem. The title does every bit of justice to the poem and vice versa. Goodness gracious... it most definitely is a "a poet's rendering of art". This is what I call perfect writing.
On a totally off topic note, this line: "a command performance of restless movement" could be taken out of this poem and inserted into a poem about insomnia. wish I had thought of it.
Timotheus applauds thee. |

The process of creating an artwork through inspired force and will has been captured so picturesquely in this Poem. It is often the case when you try and force inspiration it doesnt come. It usually comes and goes on its own accord. Wonferfully written. My favourite lines:
"Words drape the page with affection
wrapping themselves around the air;
they float in ageless, timeless drift"
Like the way your mind worked those lines out. |

My dear, this is why poetry will always exist. Look at these breathtaking lines you have written, even as you struggled to find them.
Candle glow and inkwell beckon
like a soft kiss from a lover lips
brushed across the skin like a feather
Words drape the page with affection
wrapping themselves around the air;
they float in ageless, timeless drift
A person is born a poet, it does not leave. Ever. Our reasons for writing may change, our muse may require replacement from time to time, but NOTHING will stop the poetry from flowing inside you. Now pick up that pen, woman. Let it out. Release! ;)
