My mind races as I wait for your return,
My heart pounds as images of you, my mind has burned.
I cant tell the future nor the past,
but I can see trouble coming fast.
By instinct, I go to protect
but instead end up a nervous wreck
How long must I wait by this gate?
Is my helplessness due to coincidence
or this fate?
Can I escape this overwhelming worried state of mind
or will it follow me until the end of time..

You can feel the speed and nervousness of heart in your words and this just races. The imagery carries the reader through this piece and in the end it is a joy to take part in.
