I watch you sit in our bed
You look so sad
What do I do?
If I speak you become mad
You just came home
From that horrible place
And all you ever do
Is stare into space
I need to hear your voice
Or to know that you hear me
I need you to know
That you are finally free
Free from the medicine
And all the pain they brought
You are all done with that
Because you fought
We always knew
That you were a fighter
Now that you are done
Your life can be brighter
You are free to love me
Because the cancer is gone
My heart is so happy
Because our life can go on
I stood by your side
Through your pain and fear
I stood by your side
Through that whole year
Now that you are better
You don’t know what to do
So you stare into space
Finally enjoying the view

Quite a moving poem. It nearly brought tears to my eyes. The ending is powerful and hopeful. Great job!
