The Darkness of the Night

I was sitting in the darkness
Thinking about you
when suddenly I relaxed
The pain was all to new

I wasn't sure where it came from
Or why it hit me so hard
All I know is when it came
Seems I was delt my card

It was a pretty good one
When it came to you and me
But in the darkness of the night
I had suddenly lost its key

When day light comes
And all is better
We will speak no more of pain together

But in the darkness of the night
That’s when the pain is new
And as I shed just one more tears
I know that you will to

There is one comfort
In knowing you’re the same
To know while I have all this pain
You might feel just as lame

An interesting write. It is indeed a comfort to know that
the one we are thinking of and feeling for, is (hopefully)
doing the same. Night time can stir so many emotions.
