Nothing
Some people bear it all,
Some people bear nothing.
Some people want fancy things,
Some people just want something.
You’ve got a cool car,
I’ve got a small bike.
You’ve got nice things,
While I’ve got nothing.
You say your life’s dreadful,
I say my life’s pleasant.
You say you’ve got it all,
I say you’re just coddled.
Your life’s like an apple,
Dangling in a tree.
The rest of us sit here,
Wishing we could be in that orchard tree.
You see there’s a big
Difference between you and me.
After all you possess everything,
While I bear nothing.

Wow this is really good, as far as first poems go. You did a really good job describing everything in detail. I hope you decide to write more poems. I'd love to read them. |

Interesting poem. I like the apple dangling off the tree image. You describe and compare what having nothing is like well. Good writing. I look forward to reading more!
