* WHAT ABOUT THE EARTH? *

Contributed by venkat on Thursday, 22nd April 2010 @ 07:16:56 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

This is about the earth:
No goddess has ampler charms or
Greater wealth of love than mother earth.
Sun, her beloved lord and the lord of light
Bestowed her a beautiful green bridal dress!
In long course of time she bore countless sons
Who never lived in amity and who ate one another
From her sacred breast they have sucked her blood
They cut her flesh into millions of slices and sold away
In their markets; Her sons who have turned into ravishers
In their heady dance of lust, torn away her green dress
Her hips at the polar regions have been totally bared -
Her breasts, the mountains have turned into volcanoes
Her loins, the oceans have been poisoned by her sons
She has to bear a bundle of shame above her head
She is angry and crying on the Solar high way
Her heart is burnt; her roars are heard now;
Her roars are turning into wildest tsunamis
They are also turning into earth quakes
Earth, if you are a kind Goddess,
Please pardon our sins!

VenKat your words ring true. You Speak of Jehovah, and he says "He'll bring to ruin those ruining the earth!" Man is bent on destruction for earth and all of mankind, I hope He brings relief soon.
How true, and up to date your poem VenKat.
Breaks my heart, and I know yours.
Your poetry is so organized, and lovingly placed.
Enjoyed it tremendouly.....
Warm love
