The Cold winter air grazes my skin
Stood as I am,
As I wait upon dark moonlight fields
Oh how is one to feel?
At the sight of a still, dark form,
An Observing dark form
That was hardly there before.
Central in the field now sealed in my sight.
In my fear and my fright my heels wouldn’t move.
Shadows of the moon, through the trees gently strewn
I told myself “this is of my apparition, reflections spite me there!
But the spectre moves fair,
details now form, its hung from the air,
dragged by the air!
To my heart it does dare that I run.
That I turn my back and flee
But still, here as I am
Transfixed as I am,
hear the moans that escapes its breath
The desperate groans that still ebb from its death
Now its gruesome being hastens with speed
My patience gives in and succumbs to the seed
Of all instinct and fibre that tells me to turn
I look back to learn; on my terrified leave
That the warmth on my neck was the air as it breathes.

A very haunting and chilling write you have here. A very enjoyable read and your imagery is very well done.
