Eighth Deadliest Sin

I’ve shut off my phone to demons
So they can’t whisper in my ear
I’ve shut and locked all my windows
So they don’t know I’m here
But I’ve still got this chill up my spine
And incessant thought of theirs
You will be mine
You will be mine
And the worst part of all,
I know it’s true;
But that doesn’t make time feel wasted
Fending off the scarlet hue
Mask of enduring face
How did you know I would
Trust you after all this time,
Training to not do as I should?
Hopeless battle, I know, I KNOW
Can never convince me to give in
Force me, force me, so I can witness
The tragic play centered on your sin
Or was it mine, worst of all eight
The deadliest added late;
The sin of thought I would ever be normal
Caught at a ball in Hell, not dressed formal
Because I was at home, in robe and slippers
Just where I should’ve been all along
I don’t know that for which I’m paying,
I don’t know what I’ve done wrong.

The loneliness of this shines through like a beacon. To not be respected, loved. An excellent read my friend. Aliopterix. |
