A Moment in Time
It was in the company of others when it happened.
She walked in. God with one finger slowed time.
Almost in slow motion she glided across the floor
As gracefully as a figure dancer on ice.
Hair jet black, a perfect coiffure framing that beautiful oval face.
Ice blue eyes burned with fire and life and the smile:
Oh that smile with the power of a thousand moonbeams.
All sound in the room had ceased to me.
Like a photograph the portrait was her and all that surrounded,
Faded into a slightly out of focus background.
The people around me were talking; I could see their lips move
But to me I could not hear them, but I could hear her breathe.
A man entered, kissed her and it was as if a crystal glass had shattered:
Time returned to normal, she disappeared into the crowd and the moment was lost.

Quite intriguing. I was fascinated as I read this and also wondering who in the heck was the man that kissed her and why in the world would she just disappear like that.
Thank you for a very enjoyable read.

Oh wow, Al. I love this. It has such an air of mystery to it!! You trapped the emotions of a
moment like this perfectly, especially with lines like,
"I could see their lips move
But to me I could not hear them, but I could hear her breathe"
Oh my! I could hear her breathe! That is so amazingly and poetically wonderful! Exactly what
it's like when someone moves you to the point of stopping your heart.
I loved this. Truly loved it!

This was quite simply, enchanting. I too
loved the line "but I could hear her breathe."
But I think what I liked most about this, was
the snap shop quality. I've experienced a
moment like this myself, and you've done
it justice here. Well done, Al!
Be well,
