Hell's Kitchen

Hell’s Kitchen

The restaurant was small but exquisite.
There was barely room enough for diners to sit.
Music drifted across this delightful scene
And the ambience was restful, serene.

The starter had been eagerly awaited
Thin slices of sweet meat which would have sated
The appetites of princes and kings in any land
As the meat was so rich and in no manner bland.

At one point he looked at the space where his finger
Should have been and his gaze began to linger
On his fellow diners who had similar spaces
And also an inquisitive look on their faces.

The main course arrived with much anticipation,
A slightly grilled steak, a magnificent creation.
He looked at the limbless and considered their pain
Then turning to his plate began eating again.

Exquisitely intriguing. I much liked how the diners were missing pieces of themselves, really carries a message of how some engineer their own downfall, perhaps. I'm a fool for the shock factor that really pushes up the message. Fantastic.

I like how much depth there is to this write. Profound and thought provoking.
