A Meeting of the Minds

A meeting of the minds

Twice as fast the speed of sound two worlds they did collide
yet per se, in those small words, was read behind the lines
line by line small bits of rhyme the conversation grew
past thoughts revived seemed still alive, to only what the other knew

for lives can run in parallels, it seems these worlds abide
at different times, a different place ...... sometimes side by side
Never can anyone foresee of what is ever said and done
for occasionally, life does not end. with the setting of the sun

Somewhere that sun it still does shine, maybe not so bright
yet thoughts abide, fears deep inside, hidden from the light
How can one know these times predict or even if they will
but, at those times when minds align it seems that time stands still

I freely gave a part of me to see that part of her
that part emotions cannot hide and feelings often stir
the words did flow like flakes of snow of different shapes and size
I could feel, so surreal ,we could see within each others eyes

the words at once seem oh so clear... at times they miss their mark
for life, like words, that leave the mind, fly random thru the dark
both still weary from past regrets and things that do not show
silll in that heart, that guides the mind ...the spirit dies or grows

A stagnant heart like a stiffled mind leave puddles of the past
some forgotten way too quickly, others made to last and last
when we forget those lessons learned, those will we yet repeat
we carry lite behind our eyes or soil heavy to weigh our feet

these times alone when worlds collide past feelings do revive
you ask yourself with little doubt " How do they know my mind"
the person deep inside that mind but, just beyond those eyes
a mirror shows .... what has been or never was, rarely do they lie

behind those eyes the secrets dwell not seen by anyone it seems
until someone, like rays of sun see all those broken dreams
but dreams and hurts keep company, that space they all do share
just waiting for, to wander by ...someone who maybe cares

so now you see of what I mean, of life and parallels
just look real hard, to see inside those eyes that always tell
to what's inside the woeful mind to a heart in small repair
where no one takes the time to see what's lovely and so rare.

So late one night the words took flight up on a silver wind
of what is past and what is now and what might never been
two have met with no regrets to share their inner joys and fears
a smile, a laugh was brought to pass ... to even one small tear

a chance, per chance ... they could not know of where that "hello" leads
at times no meaning, others a thought or just to meet the others needs
thinking back about that night ,do I wonder what might have been?
or maybe I will keep inside, if only to be satisfied, I made a lovely friend.

........ Unknown (but to a few) Legend
