A rotten formaldehyde
In the state of Denmark
Joined empires
Just to preserve our map
A swim across to Switzerland
A von Trapp tramping in the Alps
To a freedom where
We bear each other’s unbending chains
War infection, a rash of loss
A plague of fear follows
While carrying buddy on my back,
Even though I know he’s dead,
For guilt, for shame,
And a little for self-protection
(Start again, it reeks)
Love my salty preservative
Sickens with self-made gangrene
For using before giving
Spoils every time.

If this was a painting it would be an excellent example of surrealism. Your metaphors are subtle and clever and makes for an enjoyable read. Thank you friend.Aliopterix. |
