Swimming against the Tide
Hard it is to bear the brunt of the trying times,
When life seems dicey, like a man on a tight rope walk,
doom looms large, you ‘re reduced to a laughing stock
your confidence hits rock bottom, morale takes a knock
That’s when you need to kick on with all your heart
And show the world you’re a man apart
Hard it is to bear the brunt of the trying times
When your pals turn blind eye and lend deaf ears,
Even your shadow deserts you, while your eyes swim in tears
The image in the mirror looks pale and fraught with fear
That’s the time if you say to self “never give up mate”
You ll find the sun in the horizon lightening up your fate.
