Justice should have been your middle name
Because you always wanted to fight crime
You didn't care if you got hurt
So long as you saw them to the time
Your wife and two kids would always wait at home
While you were on the streets making your arrest
They meant to you more than anything else
But I suppose the job came a good second best
Then one day
Whilst on the beat
There was a man
Shooting a gun off on the street
You took the bullet for someone else
To save their life
You tried to run
You tried to crawl
But then you'd fall
You be remembered
As the man that gave his all
Later that day the family got the call
Needless to say the tears started to flow
There was a silence of grief all around
When they were told what happened, they didn't want to know
There was a scream
There was a bang
Then he fell
To the ground
He took the bullet for someone else
To save their life
He tried to run
He tried to crawl
But then he'd fall
He'll be remembered
As the man that gave his all
