one two....three?

Topic: LostLove

One or the other? it seems I'm lost,
I'd make my choice but I know it's cost.

Shall I choose beauty, who grows older with age?
or the girl with the intelligence to make the front page?

One's personality doesn't leave her much to share,
but I can talk to anyone, so why should I care?
I'd like to have a trophy to carry around,
but in time I will leave it, no where to be found.
Nothing special, my prize would fade away,
just like this, about one, there isn't much to say.

Two and I talk hours and hours on end,
about magic lands and things we pretend,
it takes no effort when she's also a friend,
if we would start I know we would not soon end.

Two could make me happy, if there wasn't a wall
a long distant place, a far away call.
and soon we shall depart these two separate ways,
and distance won't change love they always say.
Alas, sadly this saying is a lie,
love can get lost with others on your eye.

My friends do not approve and say I could do better,
this makes my heart cringe, and I feel bitter.
Beauty from my view should be all I care
after all in my view, of her, none can compare.

But I almost rather not risk two and go with one
because when love gets involved sometimes it's just not fun.
then again a third option I think I shall not do,
I could stay single and pull a Nelly Furtado.
But once again I know in my heart this is wrong
I want not pleasure but someone for eternity on.

These are the decisions that dwell in mine.
Lord please help me make up my mind.....

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
