When

Contributed by Loende on Saturday, 10th April 2010 @ 04:40:52 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You wield love, like a weapon
cold and calculated, in amongst the kindness
careless as your words and disregard
until I cannot tell if it is compassion or cruelty
all while claiming that Love makes you
who and what you are.

Every moment now, is underscored
with pain, just waiting for the next blow
that will steal the very air from my lungs
like winter’s icy breath across the skin
a lifeless husk, forgotten then
left to shatter alone in the dark

So, the question is no longer if it will come
(If it will hurt…)
no, it is when?
When, and how much will I bleed
for mere morsels of your time?
And when will I learn that the cost...

is far too high?

A beautiful summation of the inevitability of a relationship that doesn't quite feel right, or does but fails to work anyway. Nicely penned Loende, I salute you.x.Aliopterix.

Ouch. Oh my dear dawn. This one holds a sting in its grip. When, indeed. I feel the pain that must have been felt to write such an emotionally gripping piece and it breaks me, sweetie. Especially that second stanza. There are no words to fully express how deeply this is felt and no words could ever be enough to explain the painful beauty and excellence with which you write. Your work is so searing, I swear it leaves the most delicate scars. Exceptional write. I am, once again, held in awe.

take care
Seléne ~

If you come up with the answer this age old question you would no doubt be a genius.
I can certainly can relate to this many times over.
Good work, dawn.
It must be humanity.
huggs, blessings,
emy
That's exactly the reason I'm happy alone.

When indeed. It's hard to break free from a trap called love when it pulls you so far in that you don't know when to draw the line. Then you realize it was better to have walked away by now than have endured everything under the misnomer of love. Sometimes are naive natures get the best of us, and under what better propaganda than love. I hope the when is sooner rather than later. Excellent write; obviously it really reached out and grabbed me.

This crushes the heart like a vice.
Such charged emotion bled bare upon the page..... this evokes memories long passed for me, and may they forever remain there.
A chalice of emotion, overflowing with regret x

Damn, talk about associative memories. This most certainly kicked them in with me.

Love should not have a price tag nor should it be conditional once it is achieved. I mean, yes, we certainly have discerning eyes (and minds) when we look for "the one" but after? No.

I hope this damn emotive write was therapeutic in some way.

You definitely are an exceptional poet my dear Dawnie.

*nods, silently agreeing* That's about all I can say about this, other than I feel for you, and hope that you do not suffer for much longer. *big hugs*

Warmest regards,

~S.
(who also hopes this write was therapeutic for you)

A fine expression of that which so many will relate to. There is deep passion in the writing.
A quote: 'Never make someone your priority who'd have you as an option.'
