It was not my choice to board this train
Where I’d be had I not is beyond my understanding
Perhaps another world, perhaps another purpose
To title the day of my departure comes easily
However even as an experienced traveler,
to evoke the memory is an impossible task
It seems a lifetime I have traveled solo
I had hoped to see the terminal before traveling unaccompanied
I am not to know when to alight
Yet I do
I write to you, my love, for my journey is ending
Any day now I will arrive at your station
I wish for you to be there to greet me
So once more we can embark on another adventure

You've expanded upon a fantastic metaphor with a great deal of depth to it. So now the traveler will not be alone, eh? Great job. |
