Waterfalls

It's funny how durable our thoughts remain through adversity. As they were created in our minds so they remain in exactly the same essence on paper. They behave tamed yet independent, as they manifest into truths and sense, visible to an audience outside our synaptic kingdoms. Yet these words do not stutter under stage fright in front of new eyes. They stand tall and proud in their posture. Order is obeyed. As soon as the first word is pronounced the proceeding words energize and awaken from slumber. A chain reaction of enchanting sense illuminates from the page eliciting a similar induction in the mind which follows suit. Each word then becomes a drop. Then another.. Then another. . .
. . . .
. . . . .
. . . . . . .
. . . . . . ....
Until they amount in rain and streams. Then from rivers to rapids. They flow like waterfalls cascading into a freefall of weightlessness. Time slows and silence deafens. You fall with them in unavoidable clouds of mist that separate you from the rest of the world. And in your fall the world is unfamiliar and disoriented. You fall in love with the moment as your soul surrounds you, joining your forgiving freefall. . .
. .. .
. . . .
. . . . . . ..
. . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . .. . .
. . . . . . . . . . ... ... .. . .
And then you crash! An exploding splash of your surmounted energy. You feel its weight barrel down on you in heavy roars. You tumble in its wake, thrashing for a breath...

Then reality restores. Splashes gently bubble. Ripples flatten. You gently float away on this water bed, in hopes of falling once more.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
