Ebb & Flow

"Eternity begins and ends with the ocean's tides.” ~Unknown

~**~**~

It has been too long…too much,
(too many days away)
and I have forgotten the clarity of your song.
All that remains is an imperfect melody,
rusty in its disuse, rife with imperfection.
A serenade that haunts me in the dark,
leaving me weeping and unsure,
because it is as incomplete as I am.

I long to reach your shores,
To bathe my faded soul and surrender my tempests,
to the endlessness of your depths.
Where Man and God can realign as they are meant to,
and all things can gain perspective again.

Will you sing to me, in my hour of need?
Soothe me with the crashing of grace?
For it is only in your ebb and flow
In the constant movement,
that I can regain my balance.
Only then will I again carry the melody within me,
Only then…can I find peace.

oh dawn, what a peaceful and oh so beautiful write. You write with an ease of expression that fails so many. The serenity in this is enough
to balance and calm a soul as much as the Ocean itself. I could dive into the poem and swim myself to a lulled sense of tranquility.

A masterfully written piece, dear poet.

What a beautiful write Dawn! The ocean is a wonder of the world and your words have paid an awesome tribute in full. You have delivered a calm that coats the reader in blue silk making me wish i was making my own footprints. Stunning and wonderfully written.

take care

Awash with sincerity and acceptance of the forces of beauty, the ocean bestows on one's soul.
An exceptional piece of poetry, I loved it x

This is exquisitely brilliant and I don't just say that. There is a magic to this poem because I felt it could be interpreted at least three ways.

It simply could be the beauty of an ocean and the peace it may bring on a night under the moon on the beach...

A man you're in love with that you are missing...

Or getting back to God.

Freaking beautiful!
