So empty and black
My reflection comes back
And its blank with no expression
Not on this television
The couch is a theater
I'm in the audience alone
Looking through for answers
And reality is shown
I could play video games
But I'm jaded to excitement
Anger, pain, and misery
These things are numb inside of me
When its hot I put on the air
In the cold, I turn up the heat
At the office, I'm in a corner
And I'm never on my feet
The time it keeps going
I've stopped drinking to slow it down
But life seems so distant
When observed from out of bounds
And these thoughts they make it worse
Move me further from the herd
Make me weird, make me avoided
Make me desperate and absurd
Crazy ideas to find them
The people who are like me
Hoboken, Manhattan
Is that really what I seek?
For now I will keep staring
Without enough to leave the house
At this blackened face before me
Hoping something will arouse

I think all of us end up in that place from time to time.
You've already taken a big step by writing about it.
Awesome writing.
