I spent my whole life comparing every woman to her
The one who I gave willingly my hart to
She has always held it without even knowing or caring
of the pain it caused me and the loss it felt for her too
Every woman under her unknowing scrutiny
Never standing a chance in her shadow perfection
Squeezing my hart until there was no room but for her
and she did this all while not even remembering my affection
After all these years of living in her unconsummated love
with my hart tainting my blood bitter with every beat
Dreaming of the day when my love will be vindicated
because my feelings withstood the time of her retreat
But without a warming a plead or a shed of a tear
she is no longer the bench mark of my love despair
All I had to do to was to Compare her to you.

I know that feeling but with time it faded.
Looking back I understand why it would never work and now I just take one day at a time and I'm actually happy that I let go.good writing. huggs, blessings,
