You stole my heart just to break it

Contributed by jrae81 on Sunday, 28th March 2010 @ 04:27:03 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Consumed by love
Drowning in hate
Swimming in madness
Threatened by fate

You said that you loved me
And promised we'd make it
I gave you my heart
So why did you break it?

We started over
And wiped the slate clean
I thought we were happy
So why were you so mean?

My head it spins
My stomach it turns
My hands they shake
My blood it burns

Confusion surrounds me like a blinding light
Not knowing which path is wrong or right
Searching for truth amongst all the lies
Hoping to find the answer in your eyes
But hollowness is all that I can see
If you are gone
Where will I be?

My heart is shattered
My soul is broken
My faith it dwindles
On the words that you've spoken
How can all you've said possibly be true?
How much could I have really meant to you?
To risk it all in such insensitive haste
Willing to let all these years go to waste

Consumed by love
Drowning in hate
Swimming in madness
Facing our fate

A good poem, nice and flowing. Yet another person to be cheated on, it's happening all too often these days.
