When the sky falls you promised
you would look upon me,
shower me in love that sparkles,
You said then, you'd make me shine.
I was told by you that I would be
brought up to the mountains
where you would say
"I love you" like I always dreamed.
When the Sky falls,
My dreams will fade to reality
and I will be blinded by naivety.
Yet I still silently wish to be with you.
I know that you bear no feelings
so tender to mean them.
You said, you promised
but I'm not stupid.
When the Sky falls
the world will fall apart.
Science will be fiction, not facts.
Reality will become dreams, my dreams.
So there, I tell you, take it elsewhere,
but right now I regret saying that.
As I said I do love you,
even if I shouldn't.
So go on tell me that
you can't love me, that you won't.
Because I am not blinded by love,
because I as well as you know
that ...never is
When the Sky falls.

Well said. Disquieting comfort. There's an obvious sad overtone, but there's also something reassuring about it - a kind of maturing of emotion. Then again there is something inherently sad about the loss of naiveté also. |

I wish I had wrote this:
"Science will be fiction, not facts.
Reality will become dreams, my dreams."
I love the sentiment. Good one! |
