The ceiling has a funny way of
staring back at you at 3am.
Shirt still stained by
the nightslong forgotten mayhem
I would trade my soul for
a blanket or a womans body heat.
Instead I settle for cigerettes
and a hat robbed from a blind mans feet.
When exactly did the buzz die out
and the agony begin
Empty vodka bottles tell a story of
friendship and sin akin
Never again, is what we swore
the time before
Never again, is what we swore
at the liquor store
Long is the road from wilderness
when the plauge is rotting your flesh
a night spent sleeping with rats
And only some with tails and entrails
Dump the trash, and try to hit the suitcase
soaked in our urine
A thousand beer cans
Litter natures badlands
Never again
Gone cups drained
Cigerettes in hand
Never never again....

This was an enjoyable read as I think many have said the same thing after a night of drinking and that is not to repeat the events again. Delivered with telling ability to unravel the story for the reader this was quite an interesting write. Different and well written.
take care
