life is a box of chocolates
but its no picnic:
a mixed bag of
ham-fisted yearnings
and salad days
designed to drive you nuts.
you can have your cake and eat it too,
and humble pie, in due course;
so don’t put all your eggs in one basket,
because its bound to go pear-shaped sometime.
watch the strange fruits, but its
the peachy keen who usually go bananas.
if you can’t cut the mustard, veg out
and join the couch potatoes:
in the end, we all get
our just desserts.
