You were the key to my door
You were the light through the glass
You were the wind that blew the trees
You were my memory from the past

You were the warmth when I was cold
You were the moon that lit the night
You were the joke that made me laugh
You were the stars that shone so bright

You were the book I always read
You were the song on the radio
You were the answers to my questions
You were the things I did not know

You were the ace in the pack
You were always fine
But not even you can fight
The hands of time

And you were forever there for me
You said that's how it would always be
But into the future you could not see
You're no longer there for me

You were the rock with stability
You were the one who lived in reality
You were the one whose feet were on the ground
When I was lost, it was you I found
But you're no longer there for me
