Brooding Hate

So still you sit,
Brooding in your hate.
Feeding,
Fueling it,
With the thoughts you generate.
Round you mind your thoughts do go,
Gaining power, and momentum
As they flow.
Down your arm those thoughts will go,
To your fist,
The tool that knows.
How to bend and break and tear,
All those things you once held dear.
Tension builds, and pressures rise,
One glance can kill from the hate in your eyes.
Dear and precious,
Familiar hate.
So fast you cling to it,
And contemplate.
Dreams of violence that when released,
Cause guilt and shame,
That’s never eased.
Unconscious clenching of your hand.
Bloodless, lifeless
Fist of Man.

Very powerful write can feel the tension building in the poem as rage is fuelled and eventually chanelled into physical violence, all generated from the mind, and the consequences of not doing something to channel or deal with the thoughts before they are unstoppable, well written |
