Between Glass and Stone

Contributed by AlbenWeeks on Tuesday, 23rd March 2010 @ 06:19:54 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Deep inside my heart,
this heart encased in glass,
there is a precious part,
forgetting recent past.

It is this part I cherish,
for not so long ago,
I was supposed to perish,
without good reason so.

But now I know my heart to be
a strong one in recovery,
though careful while I'm still alone
or this strong heart may turn to stone.

For balance is of greatest need
and strength of heart is not so great,
it often caries like a steed
a means to close its open gate

Both weak and strong parts needed now
to wait in peace and wonder how
my future love with match with me
two hearts that breathe so easily.

beautiful sentiments. Quite sigh inducing, in fact. I am really drawn to the last stanza. It speaks so intimately of two souls etched as one. To breathe easily together is what we all hope for. :) Beautiful write.
