Breath of Life

Breath of Life

I remember the nights not so long in the past
When I would fall asleep wondering how long this could last
Wishing for things to change no matter what the cost
Almost praying for death before morning, feeling so lost

Trapped in a world that with no one I could share
Surely I would be called crazy, so I do not even dare
What have I done to deserve being punished this way?
How many days of Hell must I endure until my debt is paid?

One day as I went through what had become a normal routine
There appeared a name that appeared new to the scene
Slightly apprehensive and timid at first
A friendship soon from the budding did burst

Time spent exchanging thoughts, ideas and such
The connection grew but neither knew how much
One day in a discussion the feelings were conveyed
That into giving up completely each was kept from being swayed

Each agreed the other had breathed new life into them
New roots from this relationship continually did stem
Firm and strong, beautiful and flourishing
May this breath of life be forever nourishing

Beautiful and sweet, I really thought this was quite good. It conveyed longing, hope, and, lastly love realized. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us. Take care.
