The show of Bethlem’s freaks we visit
To see the monsters kept in their small cells
A vision that sees not one of them fit
Feeble thin bodies with mephitic smells
Oh how amusing to see how they fight!
Trying to break the chains that pin them down
The stick I poke them with they try to bite
What abnormal humans make these sounds!
Their misery unearthed I feel no thrill
The first time now I notice their deep frowns
An old feeble man sits quietly still
Has death broken the chains that pinned him down?
The rants and raves have left him now, he rests
In peace he leaves the body he possessed.

Very thought provoking write.
it seems beyond belief
that once people, would
be allowed to treat
people that way
Thank god we have
moved on , can't
imagine what
those poor
people went
through.
And the minds
of the sick people
who let this happen
very well written
Take care
Fuzzy
